Gary Thomas retired as a General after a 37 year career in the United States Marine Corps. His service culminated in his assignment as the Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps. During his distinguished career, he led service, joint, and multinational organizations both at sea and ashore across all aspects of defense, including full spectrum operations, program management, strategic planning, and resource management.
As a member of the Joint Requirements Oversight Council, he collaborated closely with other senior leaders across the Department of Defense to identify key requirements and prioritize funding for the most important future capabilities for the defense of the United States and its allies.
Mr. Thomas earned a BA in computer science from the University of Texas and an MS in national security strategy from the National War College.
