Deputy Director for Operations

Sarkis Zoubian

Sarkis Zoubian is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina, and is currently the Deputy Director of Operations at Capstone. He graduated from the University of South Carolina – Columbia with a double major in Biological Anthropology and in English and worked at the South Carolina Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology.

After receiving his teaching certificate, he worked as a schoolteacher in the Russian Federation for two years, returning to the U.S. to complete a Master’s degree in International Peace and Conflict Resolution at American University’s School of International Service in Washington, D.C. He received a Boren Fellowship from the National Security Education Program and studied Russian and Kazakh while living in Kazakhstan for a year.

Sarkis previously worked at NDU’s International Student Management Office where he handled the Alumni, Outreach, and Engagement portfolio before transferring to Capstone. In his spare time, he enjoys photography and kayaking, and speaks Russian at a high level while practicing Kazakh.
